first i would like to give a little history so you can see how crazy this sounds About a year ago i started with dizzy spells , falls and frequent urination and logically i was tested for diabetes which it was discovered i did not have , about 6 months ago i started with muscle spasms in the arms and legs , as well as occasional seziures in the legs as well as short term memory problems , momentary disorientation , balance problems , co-ordination problems and clumsiness as well as a change in personality (loss of most emotions) my eye on my left side is stiff and sore and i have blurred vision in it as well as numbness and pain in left hand side of the body and a few speech problems...tripping over own words , repeating my self constantly , and saying wrong words in wrong context..after consultation with my doctor she ordered a mri and a e.e.g and when my hospital appointment came i dutifully went to find out i had to see a neurologist before i could have the tests ,with this i had no problem and understood the reasons behind it when he explained , he introduced himself looked me up and down and asked what the problem was , while he read my notes , i explained that i had be having some problems and that it was upsetting my wife and depressing her which is a problem because shes bi-polar and was on a downer at this time... he stopped me there and said.."your wifes bi-polar?! you poor man how can you put up with that? " he said in a disgusted voice and shook his head and said " well thats your problem your probably depressed or bi-polar, having a partner whos like that and putting up with it! " i was shocked he refused to listen to any other symptoms saying that it must be because my wife was bi-polar and that he wouldnt want to waste hospital resources on someone who because his wife is bi-polar cannot have anything neurological wrong with them....i pointed out that i had already some years before been diagnosed with brain disfunction due to occasional spasms i had back then by a consultant surgeon...to which he replied " they(consultant surgeons) are all idiots and dont know anything"
so now thats the crazyest wrong diagnosis i have ever heard of based upon my wife being bi- polar i must be ?! i didnt know it was catching should i inform my co-workers they might catch it? LOL

LOLI had the same thing happen!!!!!! Oh my gosh. I had very simular problems. I was told I was bipolar because my mom was a little off too and my Dr. new her and he said it is hareditary. After 4 years of *%$# I proved to them well after I finally had a cancerouse tumor that stuck out my neck that they couldn't deny, that i had thyroid problems. It is very comin and can be in men also. The basic test doesnt always show it you made need a full panel thyroid test. Might not be your case but I would rule it out! Look it up on line see if you can relate to the symtoms
