It began with what I thought was mosquito bites- severe itching. Then more bumps appreared- and they just wouldn't quit itching. I saw many doctors- including one at Emory University- for 2 years and we just couldn't figure it out. I dont want to falsely scare anyone, but I had Hodgkins Lymphoma and it went undiagnosed until it was a stage 2B. I had night sweats (fever), broke out in a rash all over- including bottoms of feet and even in my hair. The rash turned into sores that got staph and finally , when I started collecting fluid around my heart and lost 40lbs, the doctors listened. Before that, they just kept giving me allergy meds., telling me it was all caused from anxiety and even denied my request for testing to see if it could possibly be lymphoma or lupus. Hodgkins Disease is a young persons disease- age 13-32 typically. It presents in different ways - not always with the skin itching but if you have unexplained itching that continues and spreads bi-laterally along the body- definitely have it checked out!
