Ankle swelling

I have a swelling on the inside of my left ankle and its getting worse. Its sort of hard and extremely painful. The pain sometimes runs up and down my leg, very sharp pain. It makes me stop walking. What do you sugggest?

  • I'd suggest an x-ray, just in case it's caused by a bone spur. I've had similar symptoms to what you describe and that's what showed up on the x-ray. The spur is affecting the tendon, thus causing pain (up & down the leg) & swelling.Of course, your problem, Benny, could be something totally different. (with luck it may be as simple as the edge of your shoe rubbing against the bone)Get it checked properly; preferably while it's swollen so the doc can see.
