Anaesthesia procedure question

Can someone please tell me what the exact procedure would be to
put someone under general anaesthetic. They were going in for a
hernia operation in the groin and to remove a lymph node in the groin.
Would appreciate step by step from being wheeled into first room and all details so can compare with what actually happened.

  • This is going to sound glib and I apologize in advance but I don't know of any other way to say it.You would be wheeled into the operating room. The doctor would put medication into your IV - which may or may not burn a little. Then the next thing you would be aware of is waking up. While asleep, you would be getting medicine and oxygen and being monitored. Each course is different depending on the surgery, and what happens during it. What happened that you are conserned about? If you tell us that, we might be able to respond better.
