In 1987 I broke my leg, had a plate and 6 screws put in my shin. 9 years later I started developing a red spot in the middle of the scar (8 inch scar) 20 years later that red spot is 6 inches high by 2 1/2 inches wide-red. Doctors say it is scarring. In May 2004, the red scar hurts and skin looks thin, I have the plate removed. Everything ok. in May 2007 I wake up and there are about 7 open wounds in the scar. I've been to an infectious disease Dr. He find nothing, I went to a wound clinic for 1 1/2 years every week, down to 2 ulcers but can't find a reason why. I decided to go to another wound clinic for a 2nd opinion, ran test, did another culture test and sent away to Florida. nothing, 2nd wound clinic tells me he has no idea what is wrong, he can't help me, he can find nothing wrong with me. Dermatologist. nothing. I contacted MRSA on 2 occasions from being in the Hospital, getting intravenous IV for infections, now thats a problem and I am out of options. I don't know what to do. I can't live with open wounds. Now I have lost my insurance so I am really in a bad position. I need help and I don't know what to do. I went also to a Natural healer, she suggested a golden salve which I use on the wounds 2 or 3 times a day and some black salve in the evening but that has been 2 1/2 months now and they are still there.

  • I really wish I had some good advice to help with this question but I am have the same thing happening but no reason for it. I had surgery in 07 on my foot after like 2 months the scar was healed and looked good but then slowly like yours little red spots started opening untill it connected to the whole scar. My lesion is now 5in long and 1in wide and is always open, so its been open now for 1 and a half years. I have seen every doctor and they just dont know why its happening. My foot isnt the only incision doing this in january I had a port put in and it healed for like 2 weeks and then just like my foot started opening. I also suffer from RSD and they first thought the lesion is just due to the lack of blood flow to the foot but now since my port is doing it they just dont know. What my doctors think may help the healing is doing plasma infusions as I have tried everything else. If my doctors ever come up with something to help I will let you know. Niki

  • Please, read my comment (second post) at http://forums.wrongdiagnosis.com/showthread.php?t=51296 - I had my big toe nails operated on and it kept causing trouble after 2 years. In one session our Chinese Traditional Medicine (TCM) doctor fixed it - now almost a year ago and still fixed. Applying ointments on the outside won't help much. They know how to make it heal from inside.

I will go to her. Thank you again. I agree with you that is from within. Thank you again. Lori

  • Only a pleasure .. I should add that the Chinese of course have differing opinions as well, some recoiling from their own ways and others ignorant, as the communist regime has long tried to destroy TCM, and now try to control and pervert it. The same thing happens with homeopathy and other therapies in the West. Because rulers have vested interests and don't want citizens discovering that humans consist firstly of energies. Would be nice to think that politicians merely want to ensure quality therapy, but I doubt they care about that. So one has to find references, push ahead, and evaluate (and budget) for oneself.
