Hi,

I've had this for about 8 months now.

Basically, the head of my penis is red and irritated in a triangle shape from the tip where i pee from to the bottom of the head. It is also very pruned/wrinkled and i get little white spots that are only really noticeable when my penis is erect.

e.g.
Tip

Bottom

I get irritated during sex and masturbation so try not to do either. Sometimes my penis is very dry and sometimes i get kind of cheesy flaky bits. Im also irritated when i work cos i sit down all day and have to constantly adjust myself. My foreskin is a little bit more difficult to pull back than normal but nothing major.

I've had a several docs and a urologist examine my penis and they've all said it looks like a perfectly healthy penis and not to worry about it.

I have had 2 full std tests that have come back negative, although i did have chlamydia that was treated 2-3 months ago and have been tested and im clear.

I was originally given a cream for thrush, but that didn't work after 4 weeks. Then i was given a hydrocortisione/anti-biotic cream that irritated it further. I then just used a plane hydrocortisone that also irritated.

Recently i've taken an oral thrush pill and been using a combo of thrush cream and a cream called Aqueous cream BP (that the last doc recommended as she said it was prob just irritation) and also been having sea salt baths. I've also been wearing 100% cotton boxers. This seems to improve it but im not 100%.

Any help would be appreciated because im starting to obsess!

  • I had the same problem for the past year. Every doctor's visit I am told that everything looks healthy down there but the irritation/pain does not go away. The numerous creams and lotions that I had used did not aliviate my problem. The doctor had run urine test and blood work coming up negative. So far, I had lost interest in sex because of the painful condition afterwards.I noticed that my ejaculations are less powerful and my erection are less hard.I thing that I am also loosing my sex drive. I am in my mid 40. Any information on this uncomfortable situation can be very helpful.

I know it is very frustrating, and I also have lost interest in sex. Try using A LOT of lubrication. Grapeseed oil is good or ky jelly.I think the problems with your ejaculation and erection might be psychological, because you know that sex is no longer as enjoyable, but thats only a suggestion.I am in my mid 20s. What has helped for me.....wearing loose pants. Loose 100% cotton underwear only. Lots of lubrication for sex or masturbation. Dont clean too hard down there. Use just water. And i use Aqueous BP cream after i wash, or if i am particularly sore, to reduce irritation.

  • hey guys. its nice to hear that im not the only one having these same symptoms. not that im insensitive towards those experiencing it as well i sympathise with you all. Background on my symptoms: Diagnosed with clamydia about 2 months ago and am clear now. All the same symptoms as you guys except for the flakky shrivled part, it seems to be made worse by sexual intercourse or masturbation. mine is only on the right side of my penis. also, i have 2 more symptoms that i didnt see anyone list. 1 is that during bowel movements i feel a sensation(sometimes) between my anus and the tip of my penis. and the 2nd one is my ejaculate has started to come out kinda chunky not its usual creamy texture. I have no more discharge like clamydia though. Anyone else have this "chunky" ejaculate? Also one more thing, I just recently started wearing underwear again(been comando for almost 10 yrs) and i have noticed that i have more hershey highway stains than i ever have in my life. My girlfriend seems to think its because im not wiping good enough but im sure thats not it. Im thinking its gotta be a link between what is happening with my genitalia. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks Guys and God Bless all of you for sharing your problems and making a anxious hypokondriack fell just a little more at ease.

Thanks Guys and God Bless all of you for sharing your problems and making a anxious hypokondriack fell just a little more at ease.Hello, I too have had a sot of red rash on my penis since Dec of 2008. I think I had Clamydia and was given anti biotics and since then have been on 3 other doses ( Jan , Feb & March ) Doxycycline, Ciprofloxacin, & Cipro again for 7 days. The infection was gone but I was paranoid that this "redness" on the top of my penis was still always there. It is from the tip and branches out to the back sort of where the head of the penis touches your underwear as it hangs. I am circimcized and have been seen by two seperate urologists and two dermatologists plus my GP on nemerous occaisions and all say that it's normal but do acknowledge that it's red on top compared to the rest of the head of my penis. Since April 2009 I have been tested for call STD's and all have come back negative... I then went again in Aug to be tested to HIV for a second time cause I was really worried about it and it too came back negative.... I had stoped going to the gym back in April 09 as it would rub and get irritated. I went back yesterday and although my symptoms were getting bettter they sort of flared up after my work out ( probably due to the rubbing )..... I just want this to go away like it was before the original infection with clamydia.... It appears that we've all had that so maybe it's normal to have this after an STD such as that ? I don't know but do know that I've never had anything before the initial infection ( I am 35 ) and my penis has not been the same since... I was told to talk to a shrink which I did as they said it was all in my head and that helped decrease the anxiety , however the light dull constant pain is still there....Any help or info would be appreciated. good luck

  • Ditto! Symptoms are the same as described by most of the previous posts. Soreness on the tip of the penis, red splotches and both seem to appear after some sort of abrasive activity; gym, sex, etc. My sex drive has declined dramatically and erections are not what they were. Penis ejaculation is 'chunky'. I was just tested for STDs recently and came back negative. Has anyone also experienced tenderness in the area of the prostate? Maybe that is unrelated, but I've felt that recently, too. Happy to have found this site for the information, but I wish someone knew what's going on.

  • i have these same symptoms, too. Was treated for chlymidia and gonorrhea with cipro and doxy. After the medication was over, i was fine, but then the splotchy, red penis glans started. Doesn't irrritate or itch or bother me in any way, but it just gets all splotchy after masturbation or sex. Also, the skin seems thin and wrinkled at times. With all these common posts, it seems this is an after-effect of the antibiotics. Kinda seems like ezcema, but it doesn't itch.

  • I have similar issues, and from reading your posts, most of you have taken antibiotics which usually causes yeast infrections. That's what I believe I have, but no fungal creams have gotten me completely cured. What I believe is that it may be candida. This is more internal with yeast and while creams may mask the issues it can't cure it without a total cleanse and killing of the yeast inside the body. I'm not sure where to go from here, but I've been researching to find a cleanse to rid my body of candida fungus. It involves a strong committment of detox and lack of sugars for the yeast to feed on. It seems difficult to achieve. Either way, I'm sure I'll try to get thru it.Any thoughts if this sounds like the right direction? Any input is appreciate.

  • I am 48 with similar problems and have gone down same track with nil diagnosis. I used get similar events over many years but with only some redness and slight irritation on the head but it would only last a week but now it has remained for over a month. I got herpes over 25 years ago and don't get many attacks. I believe it may be related to herpes as the virus is stored in the base of your spine and can affect nerve endings. It may not have to present with blisters despite what medicos would have you believe. Additionally, there are many strains of viruses and bacteria that have not been discovered and we may have something that they may find a name and cure for in the future.

  • I have had similar problems over the last 2 weeks and have had multiple tests done that have all come back negative. I believe what I am experiencing to be a male yeast infection. I have since started taking 2 baths a day with a very diluted solution (10-12 drops for an entire bath tub) of tea tree oil and have seen a drastic reduction in symptoms. I hope within the next few days that I will be symptom free. Hope this helps.

  • Similar story here. My penis just kind of "hurts" at times...it doesnt burn or itch, just sort of a very dull pain. Hard to explain. Have the chunky sperm too. Does anyone else seem to "leak" a little urine after they go to the bathroom too? Seems to be happening to me...This all started happening to me after I got oral from some girl I met. I did read that yeast accumulates in the saliva big time, so Im wondering if thats how it happened. Another thing to look into is prostasis. The yeast can affect the prostate as well. A simple test I read online is to keep a glass of water next to your bed and in the morning as soon as you wake up, before doing anything else, spit into it. I just collected a good bit of spit in my mouth and spit in the glass. If it dissolves into nothing, then its probably not yeast. If it gets all stringy like spider webs, it could be a yeast infection. Not sure how accurate this is, but mine was DEFINITELY all spider-webby. An extremely strict diet is a way to get rid of it, but I havent been able to follow it well enough yet. It does seem to get worse when I eat lots of sugary food or drink lots of beer, and better when I go a few days without that stuff. Also take a probiotic pill, eat plenty of yogurt. And I read that coconut oil pills (got em at GNC) and garlic pills contain things that are good for the good bacteria in your body. You need to build up those good bacteria because the yeast is what's "keeping them down" so the speak...

  • I too have been having problems like the above posts for 2-3 months. I first noticed small red spots on the penis head, that went away in a few days, but a red triangle of irritation like described in the first post remained, as well as small white spots and occasional itching. I went on an anti fungal for 2 weeks, which only seemed to make things worse, so then I went to a doctor. The doctor took some tests and found I did not have a yeast infection, and prescribed a steroid cream. The steroid cream seemed to make things better for a few days, then my skin began to feel tighter, and would get red and irritated all over from very little, so i discontinued using the cream. After this I began to experience a foggy head, and rectal itch and suspecting a systemic yeast infection, I took two diflucan (fluconazole) tablets, one 5 days after the other, and nothing much seemed to change.Has anyone had their symptoms clear up at all?

This is probably caused by an allergy to the yeasthttp://www.cks.nhs.uk/patient_information_leaflet/thrush_men#
