Constant burning in penis and anus

Hi there,

I’m not sure what else to do at this point. Back in August of 2007, I had intercourse with a random girl I had met. I used a condom, but it must have broke. Exactly two days after, I started having excruciating sharp pain at the tip of my penis. It was like receiving electric shocks at the tip. When looking closer, I noticed that the “lips” at the end of the urethra were swollen. It alternated, sometimes one side was more swollen then the other & the lips were tender & softer and it used to be. I noticed redness and some irritation. I went for many many tests. I saw five different doctors which included two urologists. The doctors told me it’s in my head as all the tests came back clean and the urologists told me that my prostate was swollen. Still that doesn’t solve anything. Here are my symptoms and hopefully someone knows something about this….

My penis ALWAYS burns, it’s constant. There is no discharge, there has never been. The burning increases when I need to go urinate. It doesn’t burn during; it’s before and after only. It’s like it has a sensor and when I need to urinate, even if I’m unaware of it, the burning intensifies and when I go, sure enough I urinate, then the burning decreases a bit. The stream is normal. A year after this started, my anus started to burn as well. I’m straight and I’m sure the two are related, it’s as if it has spread. I also have lower abdomen pain. Basically, it’s the tip of the penis, the whole urethra, the anus and the lower abdomen (below my navel) . A few months ago I also started having sinus infections. I’ve never had those before in my life. I was very healthy. In my left nostril, I have some sort of air bubble that come and goes. The size changes, when it’s larger, it’s softer and when smaller, harder to the touch. I also developed food sensitivities. I do not drink alcohol anymore, when I used to have a beer, the burning would intensify. Same with coffee. Anything high in sugar is a problem too. No more chocolate, pop & junk food in general. Lastly, heat is also a factor, when it’s warm and I have pants on, the burning again intensifies (penis and anus).

I’ve read a lot online, but it’s so confusing and scary. The doctors don’t know what’s wrong and most won’t even take the time to listen to me, as if I had mental issues and wanted to fixate on something that doesn’t exist… I’m a very pragmatic person and know that there’s something wrong. I just dream that someone could help me find out what it is. After reading to me it sounds like I have a bad yeast infection of some sort, but I’m no doctor and most don’t even believe in that…

I’m now 34 and can’t keep going like this. I need to find some answers.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Vincent.

  • I have had the same problem for three months now. I have chronic pain in the tip of my penis, some rectal burning. I have been tested for anything and everything.....all results came back negative. Have been to numerous doctors, all can find nothing wrong. I have been on cipro, dox, and am now on elavil and flomax. I was put on zoloft for depression. My pain seems to subside upon laying down, or sometimes standing tones it down a bit. Hot and humid weather seems to aggravate the condition more, also sitting. There is a nerve called the Pudendal nerve that has the same symptons being described, that could be the cause of the problem, often confused for CP. Needless to say this condition is very debilitating to say the least.

  • I just started having this problem as well. Started in the tip of my penis and now in my anus as well. Burns when I pee. I have had genital herpes for three years now and right before this started I had my worst outbreak yet. The herpes have subsided but now this. Fml
