swollen occipital lymph nodes, neck pain

Hi there,
I have some questions about some symptoms I've been having. I noticed some small lumps on the back right side of my head going down to my neck. I went to my doctor who said that they were swollen lymph nodes. She couldn't figure out why they were swollen (and ran no tests) and put me on antibiotics, with the possibility that it was just ingrown hair follicles.

I started the medication, but the swelling isn't going down, and I also have pain around the area--with headaches as well.

Should I be concerned? How long should I give the medication to take action and the swelling to go down?

  • I would immediately get a biopsy. I have swollen lymph nodes in the neck and the biospy indicated lymphoma.
