Does anyone have small nodes that are moveable that they can feel on the side of their neck. I do and have for 1 1/2 years with no other symptoms.

  • how large are they deb?are you thin? do you have a thin neck?because people who are very thin, they're nodes can be felt easier.I have a huge one that's moveable and grows larger on days I dont' feel well. I feel flu like and I"m extremely weak and tired. those are the days I leave work early and go to sleep.I've had this for a year now and it's only getting bigger.I once had a lymph node in the very same spot that was removed back in 1998 and I never thought it would grow back.it's about the size of quarter. the last one they took out that was "atypical" and benign by the way, was about 4 x 6 centimeters large.I was never told what to do if it ever came back, so I dont' know whether to pursue going to an ENT to have it needle biopsied like my family dr is recommending me to do since I asked him the 3rd time now thru the course of the year what does he think of it. his answer was always, it's nothing if it's not growing. now he felt it this time and is recommending i get it biopsied. but he didn't write a note for me to give to the ent.is he doing this so I finally shut up about it?I don't know whether i"m making a big deal of out of it or not?would you get it biopsied? you're also feeling a little worried like I am other wise you wouldn't have come here to post about your nodes. right?so what would you do in my case?I'm open for suggestions so I know if I"m over reacting or not.sincerely, linda

  • Linda, I am a thin person and can see all of the veins and cords in my neck. 1 1/2 years ago I delibertly found a node on each side of my neck and have irritated them consistently. They are not big but of course I am concerned. I keep in the back of my mind that I think I made them this way by constantly feeling them. I do know they are very sensitive and will refrain from getting smaller if irritated. If I were you, I would opt for another biopsy only because the node continues to grow. If it were to stay the same size for this long without having any symptoms then I would say just leave it alone. Do you think that after 1 1/2 years without symptoms and without my nodes growing I am okay? Deb
