I'm a 36 yr old male & about 2 months ago I got what I thought was the flu. I had a high fever, a red rash across the front of my neck (that did not itch), but no sore throat. I went to the doctor & was told I had a viral infection. After about 3 weeks & not feeling better & having new symptoms I returned to the doctor. I started having dull aches in my groin & underarms, as well as a dull ache in my testicle. I was diagnosed with Epididymitis (a bacterial infection in the testicle) & was told this was the reason for my feeling ill. After a course of antibiotics, the infection cleared but I still felt generally ill. I waited 2 weeks & returned to a different doctor who ordered blood work & a chest xray. The xray came back clear & all the blood work came back completely normal with the exception that I tested positive for Mono. I have not had the fever since the first week of the illness & the rash went away after a day, but I constantly feel flushed, tired, weak & have swollen warm lymph nodes under my jaw. I still have the underarm & groin pain. It's been 2 months & I'm really worried that this is more than Mono, I fear it may be Hodgkins or Lymphoma. Is it common for Mono & swollen lymph nodes to last this long & is it common to not have the severe soar throat? My anxiety over this has gotten so bad that my doctor put me on Xanax until I return for a check up next week. Please any advice or thoughts?

Please any advice or thoughts? i had mono last year and the gland on the right side of my neck and groing still havent gone down and i occsionally get a mild fever. Mono is a bad virus and can take a long time to get over the glands can keep going up and down or stay up constantly as long as they dont get larger dont be too concerned. Mono can cause CFS which can cause glands to swell, fevers aches and pains digestive problems and flu symptoms. if it is bothering you alot and you are concerned about hodgkins you could go through the tests to put you mind at ease but as long as the glans dont get larger then the max that they are getting now then i wouldnt think it would be hodgkins. also dont feel you glands alot because you may become obsessed and start to believe they are getting bigger when they arnt also poking them can make them worse.
