I'm a 36 yr old male & about 2 months ago I got what I thought was the flu. I had a high fever, a red rash across the front of my neck (that did not itch), but no sore throat. I went to the doctor & was told I had a viral infection. After about 3 weeks & not feeling better & having new symptoms I returned to the doctor. I started having dull aches in my groin & underarms, as well as a dull ache in my testicle. I was diagnosed with Epididymitis (a bacterial infection in the testicle) & was told this was the reason for my feeling ill. After a course of antibiotics, the infection cleared but I still felt generally ill. I waited 2 weeks & returned to a different doctor who ordered blood work & a chest xray. The xray came back clear & all the blood work came back completely normal with the exception that I tested positive for Mono. I have not had the fever since the first week of the illness & the rash went away after a day, but I constantly feel flushed, tired, weak & have swollen warm lymph nodes under my jaw. I still have the underarm & groin pain. It's been 2 months & I'm really worried that this is more than Mono, I fear it may be Hodgkins or Lymphoma. Is it common for Mono & swollen lymph nodes to last this long & is it common to not have the severe soar throat? My anxiety over this has gotten so bad that my doctor put me on Xanax until I return for a check up next week. Please any advice or thoughts?Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
