Hi there,

I'm a 27 year old female and for the past few years, I've had some strange symptoms:

-Mild joint pains (asymmetrical--in my left wrist and hand, mostly).
-Occasional mild oral ulcers (on the roof of my mouth)
-Mild solitary rashes (not really on sun-exposed areas)
-Very dry eyes and mouth
-Occasional shortness of breath.
-ANA level 1:80 (homogenous); all else autoimmune tests negative

I don't have fevers, photosensitivity or fatigue. I've been to numerous doctors and they can't really tell me what's going on.

Does it sound like lupus? Any and all insight would be greatly appreciated since I can't seem to get an answer from doctors or doing research.

Much thanks!

  • rule out sjorgrens? the key symptoms are dry eyes/mouth. its considered autoimmune like lupus.

  • Did they do a Lupus Subpanel.. I also was testing negative for Lupus, but the subpanel showed SSA and SSB.. same types of symptoms, but only part of the lupus panel pops as positive... so the ANA can show normal. Took me more than 10 years to find it.. Key is see a good rheumatologist...(they treat overactive immune system) Failing that see a Board Ceritified Immunologist - they treat under active or deficient immune systems don't see an allergist - if you have either one... allergy shots will make you very sick. • Oh yearh, the elevted SSA AND SSB antibodies are called - Sjorgrens Syndrome and it can effect every major system in your body that needs moisture...it affects your mucous membranes.
