I have had lupus for years. I also have arthritis and connective tissue disorder. Lately I have had problems with my right thigh. It started with a bruising sensation. My skin has always been tender to the touch, but this felt like a huge bruise, without the discoloration. Now it feels like pins and needles, and this morning when I woke up my whole thigh felt numb. I am going to make an appt. with my doctor on Monday, but who knows when I'll get in to see him. Does anyone have any experiernce with this or any clue what it can be from?

  • I was diagnoised with Lupus just over a year ago, I get skin problems, joint problems, extreme fatigue also dry eyes and mouth and mouth ulcers. I also get a dreadful pain in my right thigh which I had not mentioned to my Rheumatologist before as it is not a joint. However on my last appointment I did mention it and he is now saying I also have fibromyalgia. Could be worth asking your doctors if this is the same with you. I would be interested in his answer as everytime I attend the hospital I see a different doctor and get a different diagnosis. Hope this helps........

MaryAlso have had lupus a long time (27 yrs). About three years ago I had the sensation that people were beating the bottom of my feet. Also pins and needles in legs and sometimes in my fingers. Diagnosed with neuropathy. Take meds. BUT the best thing is I read an articla that said L Carnitine (I take liquid 1000 mg) helps. Usually i ttry srtuff like this and I get no results. Much to my surprise 2 tablespoons 2x a day made a huge difference. I can take less neurontin (what was prescribed by doc) and have much relief. Good luckKatina

  • HiI have not been diagnosed with Lupus but have a similar problem with pain and numbness in my right leg/thigh. It is extremly painful upon waking and then goes numish and feels tight and cold. I also have experienced pain and numbness in my hands and fingers. I have also been diagnosed with arthritis but this is in my left thigh, and a neurologist diagnosed carpel tunnel syndrome in my hands, he ignored the leg pain as he didn't know what it was. I am hyperthyroid and think that all these problems are related to this. I would be grateful if you could post any information that you get on your leg problem on this site as I am trying to deal with all my symptoms and my immune system is totally up the creek. Many thanks.
