I am trying to figure out what can cause severe vertigo. My mom has lived with this now 24 hours a day for the past 2 months. In 1992 she was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia (recieved bone marrow transplant), Lupus, Addison Disease and Sjogren's Syndrome. She also has Tachacardia, severe Asthma, Thyroid Disease, and Hypoglycemia. As well as a few other minor problems. She has not been treated for the Lupus or Sjogren's because in 2000 she had a negative ANA test so we just assumed it was previously false. Of course now with other severe symtoms suggesting otherwise we will have a third ANA done this week. My question is could Lupus or any of the other's above be the cause of Vertigo? We have ruled out all ENT diseases at this point. She has also been expeirencing the butterfly rash, a very bright red, flat, extremely hot rash on her knee caps, and spots on her feet, swelling of the palms of her hand and soles of her feet. Although the rash itself is not swollen her joints are tremendously! Her fingers go numb and tingle (possibly Raynaud's) she is losing her Perriferal vision in her right eye. She is having muscle spasms, cramps, and pain. Her elbow joints are very enlarged but not much swelling. She has become very fatigued, and sensitive to sunlight. She has also had some gastrointestinal problems for approx. 2 months as well. Her doctor has not done a whole lot, an MRI, some routine bloodwork, echo, and halter. I have also thought possibly Multiple Sclerosis. But since the Doctor did the MRI she automatically ruled this out. Is this routine? I feel further testing should be done (spinal tap?). I have also thought Aseptic Meningitis? Please I am extremely desperate for any advice, tips, knowledge, information, any help. I cannot stand to see my mother living like this anymore.
