I heard that only 3% actually survive after chemo. Is this true? If so, how scary!!!

  • Hi nogullie, Its hard to say the ratio of death after lungs cancer chemotherapy had done. I dont believe in that only few people survive. As a chemo is successful operated under the vision of specialist doctors. Chemo means using anti cancer or 'cytotoxic' drugs to destroy cancer cells. It might be possible that after an operation the effect of that may disrupt the functionalities of nearby organs from which the risk of death increases. The chances of living after chemo are not decided as it depends on growth of that cancerous steam cells which was removed from surgery. Thanks

If so, how scary!!!I'd have to say I think that's true - I don;t know anyone who has survived and I lost my mother to cancer after many years and lots of horrible chemo. Fighting cancer by subjecting it to radiation seems to do lasting, irreversible damage that causes all sorts of complications for the body.I would never have chemo myself and would much rather try a holistic approach like the Gerson Therapy. It seems chemo is for people on their last legs with doctor's trying to prolong their life rather than cure them.
