I am a 59 yr old woman and was healthy before I was diagnosed with non-viral hepatitis in March after taking a series of antibiotics for a sinus infection. Scans and tests revealed no tumors or masses on liver, pancreas, spleen, etc. I stopped taking all meds and did everything the doc told me to do-rest, drink water, don't drink alcohol, etc. My ALT and AST started coming down from the 5,000 range and dropped to the 300 range. Bilirubin went to normal. Then, 4 weeks ago, the AST and ALT started going back up and this week went to 800 and 630. My doc is worried and wants to do a liver biopsy. Does anyone out there have any experience with this? Any suggestions? What could it be? I am scared!Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
