Fatty Liver

Hi guys, this past december I had a couple panels done. My ALT was elevated, and other measures related to the liver were too. The above values are the one's that were elevated.

In addition to that, I had a sonogram, and I was diagnosed with a fatty liver. Essentially, my PCP was never able to diagnose me, he threw around a couple conditions including hemochromatosis. I moved, and stopped the followup. Now, I want to take care of it again.

Recently, I developed an "ammonia like" sweat smell. I know sweat should be odorless. I think, that this could be associated with my liver.

I drink maybe a beer every two weeks. I do not smoke, but am overweight at 6'4 300lbs. I have had incredible stress the past 3-4 months, perhaps that can also be a trigger.

I just wanted to see if anyone had dealt with this before, so I can have some background before following up with a new PCP.

There is HX in my family of Hepatitis, my father had it. But I came out negative,

  • Hi there,I'm not sure if your problem is the same as mine was, but thought I would post, in case it might be of help to you. :) (I know that blood sugar problems/ diabetes and other conditions can cause some of the problems that you mentioned.)I am 34 year old woman and have liver and other organ damage from being exposed to Workplace chemicals 2 years ago (Diagnosed with Chemical Injury). A year and a half ago I was so terribly ill that I was urinating blood, my food wouldn't digest, severe liver pain, and my skin itch terribly and in some places it would fall off every day and bleed. There were many days when I couldn't get out of bed or couldn't remember my own name. I had arthritis so bad that I couldn't use my hands many days. I was barely able to function last year, but am doing a better this year. But at the beginning, it just started with strange smelling sweat, and then strange smelling urine. Then it became what I thought was a sinus infection, then an ear infection, etc. I had no idea what was happening to me, and four months later - when I was literally dying - they found out that they had forgotten to turn on our ventilation system at work, and that I was being exposed to concentrated amounts of toxic chemicals. (I was a legal assistant) :(So whatever your problem turns out to be, please check into it. I recommend seeing a Holistic Medicine Doctor - Someone who knows about detoxification, food allergies, etc. I've also been seeing an alternative medicine practitioner who does something called BioScan - and helps with detoxification. If you do want more information on toxicity, Lynn Lawson's "Staying Well in a Toxic World", and Theron Randolph's "Human Ecology and Susceptibility to the Chemical Environment" are good places to start.Good luck whatever you find.
