Hi , has any one been told they have this on their liver? I just had one of these discovered on a ct scan. Any one with some helpful info to help me , would be most appreciated. I have to wait to see a specialist , and dont know how long that will be. I get anxious , so if you can help me please reply!!

  • I'm not sure if this is the same thing but I have two small calcified granulomas in my liver. They keep showing up in various xrays, ultrasounds, and a Ct scan that I had done over the years. My doctor said they may represent an old infection such as tuberculosis (which I've never had) or can be from liver cysts. My Ct scan showed two small cysts in my liver which may be what the calcified area is from. They are apparantly no big deal as no follow up was needed and liver cysts are pretty common and usually don't cause any problems. Again, I'm not sure if this is the same as you because you didn't mention granulomas but I hope it helped.:)

  • Look into Sarcoidosis. I have this condition and what it is is granulomas that can show up anywhere on the body. The liver isn't usually the first place that it shows up but its not uncommon either. God Bless!Jennifer

  • I have just had this diagnosis as well after a CT scan yesterday. I had the CT scan to look for causes of bouts of debilitating abdominal pain that lasts for several hours and then disappears. I have no gallbladder and five years after that was removed, I had to return to have a stent placed in some duct in my liver because stones were getting stuck causing similar symptoms as what I'm having. The doctor tells me the same as you....that the calculi could be related to a previous "infection". I've not had hepatitis or TB. Are you experiencing symptoms as well?
