well for months i have tried to look on the internet about the final stage of liver cirrhosis until i found this website and my father died yesterday so i wanted to return the favor for a family that is going through the same thing as i did...my father died Jan 5 2011 bc of liver cirrhosis he was 53...he was an alcoholic and never stopped drinking until the day he died...what i noticed with my father is that he slept all the time and the last week before he died he couldnt even get out of bed. his legs and stomach were very swollen because of all the fluid in his body that the liver couldn't handle anymore...he fell a lot because he couldnt really walk anymore and he started to look yellow and very old....on Christmas eve he walked him self into the hospital because he couldnt stop vomiting blood, and couldnt breathe....when hey got to the hospital they saturated him and put him on a ventilator....the blood was coming from something in his throat because he was always throwing up and the thing in his throat exploded ( i cant remember what exploded in his throat)...while he was throwing up he swallowed some and got into this lungs and infected the lungs which he also had lots of fluid in his lungs....he was saturated and on the ventilator for a week and a half until the doctor said there was nothing else they could do....so we decided not to have him suffer anymore and to take him off the machines...after they took him off the machines he died in about a minute so that has to tell u how sick he was and that he was ready to go...i hope this helped someone like this website helped me...my prays are with those families that are going through the same thing as me...hang in thereReply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
