Please help. Medical advice from a professional is greatly appreciated. My aunt lives in a remote area in Ukraine where medicine is not as advanced as in US. Well, she was diagnosed with stage 2B ( under 2 cm + a few Lymph nodes) breast cancer a year ago. She had two rounds of chemo, mastectomy and radiation + hormonal pills. 4 months later MRI did not show presence of any cancer. 7 months later she had an abdominal pain. Ultrasound has shown enlarged lymph nodes in the stomach area and multiple nodules on the liver. No other tests were done. The diagnosis was metastatic liver cancer with multiple nodules. She was prescribed 6 courses of chemo. After the first dose, the liver nodules enlarged almost twice in size. AFP is 52. What shocks me the most, that there was no other tests done to confirm the cancer of the liver. They do not have means around her area to do liver biopsy. Is it possible ultrasound showed a damaged liver after first rounds of chemo earlier in the year, and now 6 more rounds will totally kill it? Thank you for any replies.Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
