Hello my dad was diagnosed with alcoholic hepatitis so does anyone know if it can progress even though he has stopped drinking and taking medications because I know after this stage is cirhhosis because right now to me it seems like he has his good days and bad days and his stomach is very very swollen and has not went down and is still a little bit yellow....so if anyone out there knows about alcoholic hepatitis can you give me some insight becaus the doctors really haven't said anything to me and my family about my dad....so any advice would help.....oh yeah and his symptoms are no appetite extreme loss of weight, jaundice in his eyes and body, itching all over his body and swelling on his feet...

  • Look in general alcoholic cirrhosis is considered fatal. but if its not progressed to cirrhosis it may be possible for him to make a full recovery. there have been reports of full blown cirrhosis also getting cured but that is rare enough. so first get it confirmed if its cirrhosis. If it is then i guess its difficult. if not then its looks better
