It is suspected that just over five years ago I received heavy metal poisoning from eating seafood in Vietnam. I was very sick for over a year, in and out of hospital majority of the time, but gradually improved. I still have some remaining symptoms but am generally ok. Six months ago I fractured my fibula right on the ankle joint. It has had delayed healing, the break has only united slightly, for a reason unknown. I am 23 years old, no other medical problems and I do not smoke. I am now being recommended to have a plate placed in. I was just curious if anyone knew if heavy metal poisoning could cause delayed healing of the bone? Secondly, does it increase the risk of infection after the surgery? Thanks for your helpReply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
