Front leg pain

For the past three days I have woke up filling as if someone kicked me in the front part of my lower left leg. I am currently on meds for other reasons and they don't seem to be helping much. The pain does seem to go away after a few hours in the morning but I would like to know why I would first of all wake up and have the annoying pain and second of all why it seems to have come out of nowhere.
