My mom had surgery on her right knee because she had an unusual miniscus and it had broken. She had to get surgery. A few days after her surgery she began to notice welling in her calf nd her ankle on the same leg where she got her knee surgery. Her doctor said it was normal but now it seems to get worst. She has a lot of pain on her right leg and it is still swolen. She can move her knee just fine butf whats bothering her is her swolen calf and ankle. What should she do, or what can be wrong with her leg ?

I would recommend your mum sees a physiotherapist for appropriate rehabilitation and treatment following a knee arthroscopy for a medial meniscal tear. In particular it is important that she rests sufficiently (crutches are often required for a period of time) and performs appropriate exercises to restore flexibity and strength to the knee at the appropriate time. In the mean time you may be interested in checking out the above links for detailed information. Hope that helps and good luck, PhysioAdvisorwww.PhysioAdvisor.com.au
