Hey, Over the past month I have noticed that I developed a small lump on my left knee. I would actually describe the lump more as a hard, dime-sized knot. If the top of my knee cap is at the 12 o'clock position, then the knot is placed near the 7 o'clock position. However, the knot seems to be separated from my knee. I can actually pinch the skin between the knee and the knot. It doesn't give me pain, but lately when I have been using it, my knee gets a little sore afterwards. Also, when I poke and play around with the knot, I receive a kind of numb feeling in the area of the knot.
I would like to avoid going to the doctor because I believe it may just be from over using my knee. I have been training hard lately, and think I may have upped my mileage to quickly. However, it does worry me a little. If anybody can give me any insight as to what the problem may be, please help. If I failed to give enough details about the condition, just ask me for more, and I will do my best to answer. Your insight will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
