I am 19 years old and about a year back while playing soccer i fell sideways and i heard a pop in my right knee. i was in tremendous pain and sat off for a little while then i started to play again when the pain returned i went off for good. soon after i got home there was swelling on my knee. i iced it but the swelling remained. I went to the doctor the next day and he said i pulled a muscle and i should be back to normal in a week or 2. after about 3 weeks the pain stopped and the swelling went away in about 2 days. but every time i played soccer when i moved my leg a certain way my knee would lock and after a couple of minutes it would get back to normal. i couldn't purposely make it happen. i thought maybe it would take a little longer to heal but a year has passed and the pain still persisted whenever i played soccer and moved be my leg a certain way. about 3 weeks ago i was doing tricks on my bike and fell off and it felt like i broke my knee. i was in pain again and i couldn't even walk. i soon found out it was dislocated because when i sat down and stretched out my leg and push down on my knee with my hands my leg moved and the knee got located back. now every time i play soccer it suddenly gets dislocated, even if im just walking.. before it used to lock every time i ran. Now it doesn't lock but rather gets dislocated and i have to do the procedure mentioned above to get my knee back to normal. i will be doing a MRI soon but it would be great if you could tell me what is wrong with my knee and how to fix it.. physiotherapy exercises would also be great. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and i hope to hear back from you
