Around two months ago I initially injured my knee by diving and landing on it, playing sport. I'm 20, and very active.
Subsequently everytime I've dived (3 or 4 times), it has become inflamed, it has now been swollen for the last month and a half or so. The majority of the swelling is in the area above the knee cap.
I have also noticed a circle of what appears to be floating cartilage about an inch across, which sometimes slides onto my knee cap, and can be moved around, or off the knee cap. When it is on my knee cap it causes my joint to lock and click uncomfortably.
On advice of a GP, I had an MRI, which apparently concluded that there was no injury beyond irritation or the femur, and a cyst.
Two weeks following that though, my knee is still swollen, and the circle of cartilage has reappeared.
Does anyone have advice? My next thought was to see a specialist orthopedist, and it also occured to me to get footage of the cartilage so I can show my doctor's when it can't be reproduced.
