Hello,

My name is Caroline,I am Dutch and I live in France since a few years. I'm 33 years old.
I was born with the MRK syndrôme and 3 kidney's.
Since baby I've had a reflux and I got an operation in 1993 for it.
Isn't this a bit late ? Everywhere on the internet I see only articles about reflux with children, not with adults. Should the reflux be treated when I was a child ?

Right now after 16 months of suffering kidney-stones and a high bloodpressure a nefrologue found out that again I have a relux.
The urine is going up into the kidney.

I will get in contact with an urologue only in september who will decide which treathment is athe best for me, again a surgery or an injection with teflon (?)
What does this mean exactly, an injection with teflon ?

  • Surgery for GERD (reflux) is not uncommon at this age. I had mine at 35. Dr. said this is the most common age he see's for this surgery. I also have continuing reflux for which I take Nexium twice a day and Zantac at bedtime. Unfortunately once they do the surgery they can't re-do it, so I was told. There are some other procedures out there but my Dr. did not recommend them. They are not proven yet and are risky.
