I am 26 and have major kidney issues. I had my right kidney removed because it just died and shrinked away, and was working at 1%. The Docs figured that was what was causing me so much pain. I cant think of a time when i havent been in pain. I have other problems as well, does anyone else find bowel problems, endomitriosis problems or moodiness liked to there kidney pain. I have been also having pain starting in my left side. Through this all, I still havent been given a diagnosis, Nor has any of the doctors voiced any concern?? I ONLY HAVE 1 KIDNEY,IM SCARED. Also, does this decrease any chances, or possibility of problems to have children??????????

  • All off the conditions you described could possibly be linked by a food allergy/intolerence. The common ones that cause cross-system failures like you describe are wheat/gluten, corn, milk, soy, potatos. There are also hundreds of foods that are able to cause these problems but are much less likely! There could possibly be other causes too, such as hormones, or liver or thyroid problems.

  • I have become partial vegetarian, no meat at all, for a year and a half. I eat all SOY, do you think this could be adding to my pain??? IM MISERABLE. I wake in the night with aching pain. I cant even tell when i have an infection anymore because the pain is so normal to me now. Someone said , that having only one kidney can lower my chances of having children, and we have been trying for a year now!!!! AM I DOOMED

  • It is definately worth trying to go without soy for a week or two to see if you feel any different. Soy intolerences are rising rapidly in frequency, as it was almost never looked for before. With the advent of high-yield crops and genetically modified plants (any type of plant), the likelihood of having a severe reaction increases as well.

  • I am in the boat with the previous poster. I have been diagnosed with Stage 3 Chronic Kidney Disease, I have Ulcerative Colitis and if that wasn't enough I have Ashermans Syndrome (scar tissue in 80% of my uterus) Oh yeah I have severe anemia too. I am the proud mom of a healthy now 18 month old baby boy and was even able to nurse him for his first year. Like PP I had a rough pregnancy, lost weight inexplicably, ended up in the hospital multiple times and had IVs for iron 2-3 times a week for a large portion of the pregnancy. Bottom line, anything is still possible so don't fret now about what may or may not happen. It can only hinder your situation. If you aren't getting answers you want or need then get another doctor. I ended up at a fertility specialist before we found out I has that scarring and that was 7 years of trying. I can't tell you how many doctors I went through and how much testing I went through before we too got to the bottom of my abdominal pain and got pregnant. I really have lost count over the years.Bottom line, keep your chip up and keep pushing for the answers you need for your peace of mind and don't give up until you get them! Knowing helps! One more thing .. .if you think what I went through is bad . . .don't . . . . I would do it all over again and more to have my son. .. it's worth every minute of what I've been through, if you want to be a mom stick to it. . .the rewards are amazing! (o:
