A month ago I went to the doctor with constant pain on my left side located on the bottom of my rib cage which also went around my back. I had no appetite, often it hurt to eat and I was really fatigued.
The doctor told me I probably had a kidney infection and put me on antibiotics immediately. He also tested my urine for any sign of infection, that came back clear but I finished the round of antibiotics because the doctor said it seemed as if the pain was easing.
It took a while and slowly I started to feel better. The pain pretty much went away, I was still very tired but figured that was because I had just recovered from an infection and the antibiotics probably didn't help either.
The last 2 weeks I have again been extrememly fatigued and the pain has returned. I went back to the doctor 5 days ago and he said to have a blood test and ultrasound done in order to see what really is going on. The blood test results haven't come back yet but the ultrasound seemed to show that my kidney's were normal.
Is there any possibilty that this is not a Kidney infection but something else.
Also, before the pain started I had seen the after hours GP for sore armpits which I thought may have been swollen lymph nodes - he couldn't feel anything so he wasn't too concerned. and had a cold for about 3 weeks which I also saw the doctor about.
Normally I am very healthy and full of energy. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be going on.
