  • I have had problems with having kidney stones since I was 24..now 32. I got hurt at work, and had to have a myelogram done. The doc just found some bulging discs, and said that my kidneys were full of stones or calcification's. I went to my regular doctor, and he did an x-ray. He said that it looked as if I had a hole in my abdomen. I am not really sure how that could be; I am still kind of confused on that. Anyways, he told me that I do have the calcification's in both kidneys, and not to worry about that. He also told me that I had stones embedded in the tissues of my kidneys. He also told me not to worry about that either. I just don't see how it could be ok to leave things as they are. I have pain all the time, and just deal with it. I did finally get a referral to see a kidney doctor, but he is so busy I have to wait a month to get in. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!!

  • Sweetie I was also on Cipro because they thought I had a kidney infection however my back kept hurting and Cipro did nothing for me, I'm experiencing the same problems as you with the back pain and urine. The doctor instructed me to get a kidney ultrasound and they saw something that they wish to not discuss with me because they want to be sure, so now I'm being instructed to get a cat scan, and this is a more in dept look at the organs in your body so I can be diagnosed properly. The kidneys are very serious and you should seek an ultrasound so they can look inside of you to see wha tthe problem is, not guess, its your health take charge of it, be persistent.

  • Thank you! I do have an appointment to see a kidney specialist. I am just waiting to see him. I am a little nervous, but I want to get it fixed if there is something wrong. I am a single mom with 2 kids, and they are my world. I will do whatever it takes to ensure that I get better. I appreciate you replying to me. I will talk to the doctor about the untrasound. Kristi

  • I have been to the doctor 10 times in the last month. I have had 5 different urinalysis done and X-rays. I'm currently waiting for blood cultures (the Dr. said it would take a month to get them back.) I have a recurrent, pain on the left side in my lower back just below the ribs. And occasionally in the front left lower abdomen. I have on and off nausea and vomiting and blood in the urine. I am extremely fatigued. I keep getting terrible headaches. I have diarrea every other day. My skin is itchy and my face has broken out, but I have never suffered from acne. I went from weighing 111 to 102 in just two weeks. I am young, and I appear to be healthy and my doctor just won't take me seriously. I know that it is not a kidney infection because of the urine test, but is it possible there is something else wrong with my kidney? And what should I do?

  • Well, I took my courage with two hands to confront the reality because it is very painful. I lost my husband December 5th, 2006 because of bad care / negligence of a particular hospital. Before communicating with my Congressman with my new discovery, I wish to have the insights of folks knowing the kidney problem.Ashley’s kidneys totally shut down on December 4th, 2006 i.e. (no urine anymore) 12 says after his released from the "particular hospital" (released on November 22th, 2006) The "particular hospital" didn’t diagnostic the kidney problem. Could you imagine that?...so he never saw a kidney specialist.Good comments needed please. It's so painful. That's killing me.

  • My husband died more than a month ago. The Congressman office called the ### ### Hospital to tell them to take good care of A### because I called them on exactly on December 1st, 2006 and the office called the ### ### Hospital at the worse case scenario on December 2nd, 2006....The day after A entered at this ### ### hospital I already sent an email and a certified letter (the same than the email) to the Congressman and almost each day I was doing that to each of his main offices. In other words, I was continuing to fight the day after on a daily basis he entered until there would be no hope anymore. Here is the paper A## signed I composed for him - three pages long:============================Written consent to release any informations…And to do whatever you can to help my wife to save my lifeImportant note: please understand it is not I wish to be mean with you guys but with what we just experimented with the VA hospitals, that made us ask you all this below. Written consent to release any informations that would at least give the opportunity to my wife to do whatever she can to save my life and that means in my case to have a liver transplant a.s.a.p. I wish to go to the Strong Memorial Hospital by helicopter a.s.a.p. and my wife to go with me.Me, A ### ### ### born on ### ### ###, allows to have the informations they need to help our project to be a success:1) the Office of the Congressman ### ### or the Congressman ### ###himself2) in my ICU unit chart so my doctors could refer to it while doing the transfer to the Strong Memorial Hospital3) in my future chart to the Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY, U.S.4) and anybody else involved in this project we can not think about for now.My wife is willing to invest herself to pay the bill for her entire life so allow her to listen to her heart and to do whatever her heart pleases to do to try to keep me alive. Even if there would be a slight chance to keep me alive, she trusts God is able to keep me alive IF this is not my appointed time to go Home. I was almost dead before on February 2004 (the priest came to give me the last rites and were aren’t at that point yet) and I came back to life so there is hope. We wish the most experimented, competent and a doctor who has the reputation to have a heart of gold for his patients to take care of me in the Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY, U.S.Please understand I’ll be dead most likely in a week if my body continues to shut down like it actually does so I truly can not wait for weeks at the Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY, US to be evaluated like the family care lady told us that would happen (2) days ago. I would be dying in a city and most likely my wife wouldn’t be able to visit me while I would die with would make any sense at all. Don’t do that to her. That would be pretty mean. Also I am extremely exhausted from my bad experience with the VA Hospitals so please wait to do the procedure when I’ll tell you I am fine enough (and listen to my wife !!) to go ahead and also please do the necessary tests because if I would have a low blood pressure, I’ll die while you’ll give me the painkiller because you definitively can’t do this surgery without painkiller. Please understand my wife is truly madly in love with me – I am ALL for her in this life so allow my wife to express all her love for me because she left everything for me. Please also take very good note if my ammonia level goes more than about 80 and as soon as I begin to be confused, I am giving my wife Durable Power of Attorney for Health care like I did with the Department of Veteran affairs previously. Listen to me, my wife has only few time to intervene otherwise all she will have to do is to bury me and it this is not an option to her even if I am actually dying so don’t let the red tape to contribute to my death. Time is short and I have only a life on earth…like you guys.Even if my wife is not a doctor, listen to what she has to say because she wishes me with all her heart and she is truly not an imbecile. She has the entire file of the ### ### Hospital and the summary of it as well with her – that the only contribution of the VA Hospital and VA office in my very sad story with the VA Hospitals – so please allow her to share and make copies with the persons mentioned above and if there is something she is not actually thinking to include in this letter, I trust my wife’s judgment to give you only what you need to have so again, don’t bother her with the flowers on the carpet or don’t split the hair in four.(............) I count on you to not only not give a hard time to my wife i.e. since the time is short you doctors desesperately need to work in collaboration not only with each others and I am giving you guys the consent to share any informations from hospital to hospital and team to team or city to city – it’s not the time to be independent – and I also count on you to really and truly collaborate with my wife. It’s more than a project of a couple, it’s a team project, okay? If we don’t have 1) your expertise and 2) your collaboration, then we are “toasted”.She wish me alive – it’s all she wants in this life - and she is willing to invest herself to pay the bill for her entire life and she is in a very good health so she won’t die soon and this is a written guarantee she is definitively deadly serious. Please understand it is not I wish to be mean with you guys but with what we just experimented, that made us ask you all this and if it is offending you somehow, please accept my apologies but my wife is so scared to have to live the same ***l-on-earth story again (and have to bury me) even if you are a complete different system than the VA Hospitals. It’s not we don’t trust your intelligence but because we lived a damned story with the ### VA Hospital believing we were dealing with doctors, nurses and dieteticians but most of them are just playing the roles without having the expertise, then we are hearthbroken and are acting accordingly. Please try to put yourself in our shoes if you can.Thank you.Written by: m###On behalf of: A###On December 1st 2006In the God of the Bible, M### and I, we trust.A### ### ###December 1st, 2006======================Here is what my friend W## just said to me:“i was disgusted at the way your husbands treatment was conducted..........my husband had the same problem he wasnt urinating and he was collapsing constantly..........and hurting himself he couldnt stand up..and a kidney doctor came straight away when he was in the emergency room and he was put on dialasis straight away because the water was posioning his system.........and that is when they told me he could die any moment............your husband should have had a kidney doctor to see him straight away...........they have done a great injustice and if i was you i would sue them.........and bring them to justice for causing unnessary suffering both to you and your husband.........i thought i would share this with you. w###r had to have dialasis 5 times..........and that cleared his system and they give him some red cell injections.because when the kidneys fail the kidneys steel calcium from the bones in your legs ........but he did survive it he was very very fortunate........”====================So......I just realized N## D### let my husband die and this is a murder. So please allow me to take a break and breath through my nostrils before reading what you posted/published (it is now 00:22 a.m. because I am mad and I lived something) and could you please again to tell me your comments about this? Before bothering somebody I wish to make sure I am right if you don't mind. Because obviously I don't know very much about the kidneys otherwise my husband would have a dialysis ON A VERY TIMELY FASHION.Thank you.

  • Me again. All I wish to know if is there a bottom line where it is too late to get a dialysis. What I am trying to determine is if the doctor just decided to let my husband die because we were poor and I know sometimes there is medical mistakes. Maybe it was too late. It's what everybody wanted me to believe but I continue what my heart was telling me - to hold on, to fight and it is what I did.In my actual heartache I can not really concentrate to find if there is a bottom line or not. Could you please tell me?...because actually I don't feel to study, my heart ache too much.Thank you. And the red smile wasn't directed towards you and I do hope it was clear it was the terrible mess I am in. I didn't want my Charming Prince to die. I know God is helping me but it's not easy at all. Not at all.
