Trying to be short here...

About four months ago I went to the hospital for kidney pains. I tried to deny the pain but it got really bad after two weeks. My sister and family urged me to go to the doctor since stones run in the family... every female has had it.

They tested my urine and found a little blood... and the CT scan came up normal. I swear I felt a stone moving... I got really hot and sweaty, really sick feeling.. and I felt something move from my kidney to my bladder and felt pretty uncomfortable.

Pain went away. Just had occasional pain here and there since then....

Now recently, four months later... kidney pain has come back pretty bad. I went to the doctor again... this time they found a lot of blood in my urine, the highest level, 3+. They ordered me a CT scan ASAP.... came back normal. I also felt something moving from my kidney to my bladder that hurt pretty bad... got really hot and sweaty and sick feeling....

I am getting really annoyed with kidney pain and not having any answers. Has anyone been through this before? Why all this pain and all symptom of stones.... but no stones in the CT scan??

The doc made me a referral today for a urologist... maybe this will help!

  • Maybe you are suffering from U.T.I. I had blood in my urine too when I was diagnosed for U.T.I. I am not a doctor though. Just trying to help

  • My daughter has stones that are so small they don't show up on CAT scan. Out of 4 ultra sounds they only showed up on 1. Size doesn't matter they still hurt terribly,,,she says it feels like a watermellon traveling and then like she is peeing razor blades.

Finally I went to a Urologist and he diagnosed me with Loin Pain Hematuria Syndrome.(LPHS) You will have severe pain and blood in the urine. Your culture and CT scans will show nothing. Look it up! I hope this helps. I was beginning to give up.

  • I would suggest next time you get the pain, strain your pee until the pain is gone. I bet you will catch the stone. The doctors then send the stone out to see what it's made up from. Then you will know what foods to avoid for future stones. I saw a urologist for my kidney pain and found that I had 5 stones in my kidneys. The blood in the urine is from the stones jagged edges scraping the tissues on the way out. I feel for your pain. Another woman in the er said kidney pain is worse than giving birth.
