Kidney obstruction

I am a 53 year old active, and fit female. I have had lower front abdomen pain since summer. It would appear once a month as cramping pain. Over the months it has become more frequent. Motrin took care of pain. On Feb 1 I had a pretty bad episode that sent me to the doctor the next day. This pain is now wrapping itself around the back. I have not felt too good all winter. On Feb 2 at doc's appointment she diagnosed me with diverticiulits. I was sent home with two antibiotics. Flagyl and Cipro. Six days later and still feeling terrible I call doc. I am sent for cat scan which shows distended kidney. Doc said no stone shows up. Stopped the Cipro and Flagyl that day.
On Feb 15 I had ureterscope. The doc could not get scope very far up ureter. He inserted stent from kidney to bladder. I am still feeling bad. I thought that if the kidney is draining somewhat with stent that I would feel better. I do not. I called the docs office on Feb 21, and they gave me antispasmatic. The nurse said some folks dont do well with the stent, and others do. I am trying to eat healthy, and drink plenty of fluids.
I have what doc said is ureteropelvic junction obstruction.
I now have to wait until March 2 for another scope procedure and hope that the swelling is down enough for scope to get to obstruction and fix things.
I just want to talk to someone who has been through this.
Any response is appreciated. I have 8 more days to wait for next scope. Trying to keep chin up here through the fog.....
