I had severe pain on my left flank and left abdomen that radiated to my back. I could hardly move, it felt like a stabbing pain in my stomach. I also got a fever when the pain started. My sister who is a 3rd year RN student did a test she learned during clinicals where you tap the back where your kidneys are located. The first 2 spots she tapped didn't hurt at all, then the 3rd spot hurt kind of bad, but as soon as she did it the pain went away in my abdomen. Instead my back hurt where she did it for about 20 minutes. Then most of the pain went away. I went to the ER because my fever kept going up and she thought I had a kidney infection. They did a CT and blood tests and a quick urine test. They found nothing. They said I had viral syndrome. My sister says they should culture my urine to be sure, but they're not. I don't know what to do. Could the drs be wrong? My abdomen is tender tooReply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
