Hi Everyone!

Firstly thanks for answering my post! i will be registering very soon!

Bit of History
Gallbladder out - Feb 06 (3cm stone impacted!), lead to bile duct damage
ERCP 1 - March 06, Stent placed and pancreatitis resulted (14days in hosp)

I am 6'4, I went from a heavish 96kg to 85kg in 2 weeks, now i am a healthy 93 (took me like 9months to get back up)

Since then i have had stent changes in the bile duct every 2.5 months and just had ERCP no. 5 with no pancreatitis since the 1st bout.

ok, so whats with the creatinine?

Been normal throughout the year, but tweaked to 114 (highest here is 110), but then would go back down to 106, 104 etc then went to 116, back to 108 and now for the last 2 weeks its been sitting around 118. (why do i test so much? i have to for my liver)

My liver function tests have finally come down to normal (been up all year from the stenting, etc)

Should i be getting the Kidneys checked by a specialist? as my stomach surgeon says that what he is doing has nothing to do with it...

My albumin sits around 46 - 51 (normal <50) so he thought i might be dehydrated!! i drink so much during the day, like 3.5 litres, so that cant be right!!

EGFR is >80, approximetly 108 according to the scott calculation.

I have been going to the gym more lately, i am not massively muscly, but havent been to the gym or exercised properly for like 2.5yrs!!!!

Any advice would be fantastic!!

Steve

  • Hi. I've had a similar experience with gymming and an increase in creatinine. When I stopped exercising so much the creatinine went back down. Even if you're not actively trying to build muscle, the increased activity can push up the creatinine. If it keeps going up no matter your exercise regime, I'd be worried, but as long as you can keep an eye on it you should be all right. Good job on getting back in shape!
