My dad has kidney disease which was discovered about 3 years ago when he had a heart attack and had to have stints put in. He is refusing dialysis. He is showing symptoms like falling asleep in the middle of the day at various times and today I learned that his hands and arms are severly swollen and starting to crack. Has anyone out there ever known someone who was like this and refused dialysis? The doctors are telling my mom just enough info to placate her. I want to know ALL the signs to look for. Thanks.

  • First of all I'm a kidney transplant patient and have experianced dialysis for a year (hemo) thank god for the transplant from my loving mother. What is weird is my friend was also having kidney problems and he found out about 2 years before he passed ..he also refused dialysis and it really did'nt take much time for him to pass, his body started bloating bad and his skin was so dry it was very brittle looking ..his feet really looked like hoves like a pig they where so swelled and his skin was very red..his cheeks and eyes where huge his body was filling up with poision..and he also fell asleep all through out the day..and you will start to see things and this is from the poisions building up the kidneys are a very important organ in our bodies ...so it depends on how much the individuals body can take .
