how much protein should I allow in my daily diet, and how do I balance it? most everything has some protein in it. if I go to low my body starts craving it. I see a lot of protein in my waste from bubbles on the surface of the toilet water and an over-all murkyness to the water.
should I instead be asking is there an allowable amount, no matter how much it shows in my waste?
I can't get much out of my nurse or doctor, I'm starting to go holistic because the chemicals are proving toxic for me, but I need to know the base limit of protein levels. I think I probably eat around 50mgs of protein a day if I don't eat any meat.
my daily diet (aproximately) is a small bowl of multigrain cherrios with a cup or less of milk for breakfast, a salt free peanut butter sandwhich, either plain, with jelly or honey, or occasionally with salt free butter for lunch, an avacodo and/or banana or orange for snacks and something oriental-ish for dinner, usually a bowl of noodles or rice with steamed vegetables with a tbsp or 2 of either Mrs Dash or chicken broth and a little white meat or cooked egg. of course these do vary, but this is a good idea of my general diet. for dessert, if we have any, either 2 flax and cranberry Vorteman cookies, a small bowl of no-sugar added vanilla icecream or air popped popcorn (the latter, all that I can eat!)
can I improve any on it? I keep my sodium under 1200mg, and seem to be doing fine with my potassium, in fact, the only thing that came back high besides my BUN and creatinine the last test was my protein. 5.4 up from 3.7. perplexing, except I did eat a little more meat, no more than and usually less than 2oz per meal, and usually none at all...except one night I craved it and probably ate 4oz that night, forcing myself to stop before I ate more. mmm...must admit I ate more butter then, too, I've cut way back. so hopefully that will make a change.
