I ask for any assistance here.

I played football last season. In late August (during practice) I made a sharp cut and felt a "pop" on my foot. It felt as if I had ZERO support on my right big toe....I could not run at all.

I take my shoe off and my MTP joint of my right big toe is wollen and tender. I ice it aggressively for the next few weeks rest, elevate it, and take Advil. The swelling most of it (goes down).

I attempt to run on it, but my toe feels like it cannot hold up and gives out....I cannot push off of it. I called it a season so I could heal.

It has been approx 8 months later, and still not much progress. I have seen a podiatrist and he saw no issue though I told him I still have instability and cannot explode and run without the toe felling like it was not stable.

At another doctors office I had X-Rays taken, and they were negative. No breaks. I still ice and take ibuprofen, and aleve....yet I still cannot explode and run. I can jog now, but very lightly and at an easy pace.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? Why is it that this injury (which I belived to be turf toe) not healed about 3/4 of a year later?

Are there any medications or recommentaions that I should look into??
