Is ankylosis curable?

I am miss Sonali suffering from ankylosis. I have ankylosis with hip joint. Doctors have sugested me to replace the hip joint.
I want to know can i avoid this surgery and have other option?. Also I need complete information on ankylosis and any new research in this field.

  • I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but, I don't believe there is a cure, only meds and treatments to ease the disease. A good relationship with your rheumatologist along with a good treatment plan, ie, anti-inflam meds, auto suppressant drugs, etc. I've had it for 20 years now, no joint replacements, yet, but my back is fused, sacro joints fused, morning stiffness and low grade fevers. I've just gone on with my life with some changes, but moved. England has many clinical studies.Helen
