I have had my share of joint problems since I was about 15, bad knees...creaking and clicking joints, but very recently I started having severe symptoms.
First of all, about a month or two ago, I began waking up at night sometimes with severe pain in my arm, just one arm, so I thought I must have been sleeping on it.
When I would wake up in the morning, my ankles were SO sore...hard to walk down the stairs because they had to flex. Then I began to have pain in my calves, all day long.
The waking at night has gotten much worse, sometimes I wake up and both arms are killing me...sharp pain in the elbows and numbness as well at times. My hands are extremely stiff when I wake up, so that I cannot bend my fingers back at all, or flex my hand forward. It loosens up a little during the day, but the pain does not subside. I can't carry grocery bags or push doors open because it hurts so much. It is actually quite hard to type as well. I am only 24! It sounds something like arthritis but I wonder at why the symptoms are so sudden...
