I just found this forum and I am hoping someone might be able to answer some of my questions. My mom was diagnosed last year with RPC, she mostly has trouble with her ear. Her ear gets really inflamed and painful. This is quite dibilitating and I worry about her. My mother is 62 years old and lives alone. She lives in a somewhat remote area and I am nearly 5 hrs. from her. I am worried. My mother had a flare up yesterday. It started with pain discomfort and she then noticed during a phone call, that voiced sounded distorted and when people spoke to her it sounded like "Mickey Mouse". As the day progressed she became extremely ill and she was dizzy and nausea. She was vomiting and crawling because she could not walk. A friend/neighbor phoned me last night to let me know my mother was very ill. The drove her to the hospital this morning. I spoke with her very briefly on her way there. She sounded worse. I am worried. Have you heard of this symtom of voices sounding distorted? She lives near Santa Rosa, CA. Do you know of any physicians near her? How about U.C.S.F. ???
