Hi Forum!

I have a sholder problem that I suspect being arthritis. I have been taking G/C for a couple of years now, and am wondering if it is really worth it. I am rather afraid to stop, thinking that if I do it will progress, although I wonder if it is really any better than when I started. Does anyone have any definite proof stories?

  • I don't know about Gluc/Chon mix, but I can attest to MSM/Glucosamine doing WONDERS for my arthritis!

  • I doubt if, I've been taking it for 6 years for my knees, and have developed horrible shoulder pain in both shoulders, my guess is from statin cholestrol drugs, so if the glucose pills worked, I don't think I should have this much pain. such a mystery, I wish I knew......

  • I take this combination along with Celedrin. I also take Calcium w/ Vitamin D. I swear by Glucosamine/Chondroitin because without it, I couldn't walk. I have Severe Degenerative Disc Disease with Arthritis mixed in the mess. I went off these herbs for a mth & noticed that the symptoms became worse so I went back on them again. Its not a cure all, I also take Kertorlac(Toradol) to help with the pain and inflammation & Advil & Codiene when needed for pain. All these really do is keep me mobile, I also have shoulder pain but my disease affects mostly my lower spine & cervical spine. I'd like to hear more from people who take the Glucosamine/Chondroitin to see the Pro's & Con's of taking herbs for inflammation Thanks As EvErCat

  • I have been using it for a year now. I have ask myself if it really shelp with my athritis. I have not noticed any positive results. It seems to be another one of those snake oil medicines. I tried celebrex. It is expensive and most insurance companies don't cover it but it helps in relieveing the discomfort.

  • Hi. I'm 27 and was diagnosed with Moderate Degenerative Disk Disease in my lower back in '08 when I was 25, and because of it, sometimes my back and hips go out without or hardly any warning, especially my hips, and then I have to go to the chiropractor to get them put back in, and I was thinking about buying some of that Elations drink because it's supposed to be better than the Glucosamine and Chondroitin pills, because it supposedly aborbs in the joints better. Has anyone tried it?

  • My dad and husband use Chondroitin/Glucosamine + MSM and it really helps! I disagree about the El Cheapo brands...I get it from Puritan's Pride and it works just fine. (is PP el cheapo?) They are having a buy one get two free sale right now, so maybe they are ;)
