Hi, I am a 24 year old woman. I got into a car accident two year ago and broke my neck. I broke c3, c4, and c5. I was put in a neck brace instead of a hallo in Maryland. Then told by the doctor I could get on the plane and go back home a week later. It has been two years and I have still not fully recovered. I have a disc plunged in my neck, It never held properly. I also now have arthritis in my back. I go to pain management. I have tired physical therapy twice. Both times I have been discharged because my body goes into full body spam, which results in the emergency room. I live a very scary and unpredictable life. Just sitting up to long or walking around triggers my pain. When I get pain usually right after I get muscle spasms which my start in my back, legs, or arms then pass to my whole body. I can not move, talk, or control it. I feel a sharp shooting pain going up and down my body. My body starts to shake. Some doctors say I am to young to have all these problems. It is not normal to have whole body spasms. I should not have pain in my legs and arms. I have been to over eight doctors and I still have no answers. So I just take the medications they give me which make me sleepy. I have so much more to say but my main focus was to see is anyone out there going through something similar to me or have any ideas. Thanks

  • You might look up dysautonomia. It can be caused by spinal injuries. Its a nervous disorder that causes all kinds of problems with the autonomic system, including tremors. I have spine injuries and have dysautonomia. Its no fun at all. A neurologist would be able to do a few tests on you to further find out if you may be suffering from this. In my opinion, what you're describing, is exactly this disorder. I hope its not but it sounds just like ehats wrobg with me. Start monitoring your blood pressure during these episodes and keep a log.
