I am now on the road to recovery after a bout of shingles. It started out
with intense pain in my back and I went to see a Chiropractor. The pain
worsened, could not sleep for days, developed a small rash under my arm. The pain increased and I saw my Internist who thought it was back pain also and gave me 800mg of Ibuprofen and Darvocet that did not touch the pain, it was that intense; to the point of tears. Went back after additional blotches
appeared and the pain intensified and I was given Lortabs for the pain and Valtrex to help w/ the shingles. I must say the Lortabs helped significantly and the Valtrex seems to be working too. Every now and then I get a stabbing pain but not as often as before. I can now sympathize w/ those who have had this, because until you do, you cannot imagine how painful it really is. I hope my information has helped, I wish I could have read about this from someone to realize my symptoms were leading to Shingles!!!
