I have wanted to discuss RMSF with others who have been infected for some time now. I had RMSF 4 years ago, in my mid-twenties. I went undiagnosed and misdiagnosed for 8 months. Initially, I felt like I had the flu and I went to sleep, I lived alone at the time. I woke up 3 days later! People tried to call me and even knocked at my door but I couldn't wake up. After that, I begun to get spots on my trunk, face, and upper extremities. The spots got worse and my skin felt numb. I had some leftover Tetrocycline and took it, origionally prescribed for acne, for 3 weeks. I continued to have very little energy and the spots were horrible. Eventually I had a biopsy after continued misdiagnosis and was diagnosed with RMSF and took Doxicycline (10) days. I have scars that still peel and memory problems. I also can't seem to find any info on longevity. I live in California and have found that in a four year period we only had (3) reported cases! No one knows anything! My doctor had never seen a case before and had me do my own research after prescribing me Doxicycline. It's terrible.Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
