A family member as been diognosed with IBS and has been putting up with this for the past 7years. She gets stomach pains which come and go for weeks at a time. When she has these pains she is on the toilet for anything between 2-13hours everyday, the longest being 13 and a hal HOURS. She has been to many doctors over the years but just gets sent back to her GP as they find nothing. She has also had a camera sort of thing inserted into her stomach which takes so many picture per second but still nothing was found. If she eats ANYTHING she stuck on the toilet for longer and if she drinks anything she just vomits. So she just does not eat hardly anything at all. She described it as if she does not eat anything she still gets these pains and still has to go to the toilet but as there is nothing in her to come out she can push the pain out, or so it feels like to her!
One doctor said it is one of the rare types of IBS of which there is no cure for. Something to do with her bacteria and that there is nothing they can do till it travels down to her bowel. Does anybody know anything about this? I am posting this as she came round yesterday and she has always looked off colour in the weeks she gets these pains but this time she looked VERY poorly and after speaking to her about it she would rather not be here anymore than have these pains. I told her to go back to her doctors but after always going in hospital having tests then being just sent back to her GP with nothing she as given up on going there and telling them the same thing again. She also takes 26 different tablets per day. Please does anyone know anything or anyone who might be able to help us as we are desperate! Thank you for reading
