Hello - I would be extremely thankful if anyone could take the time to read through this and give me their opinion.
Background: I'm a 21 year old female on the West Coast, with a history of some mental illness (anxiety, panic attacks, depression, on Zoloft for 2 years in high school and dealt with many eating disorders that I have since recovered from). Went through a week-long bout of vertigo a couple of months ago. I get migraines a couple of times per month. I'm admittedly kind of a hypochondriac, but I can at least recognize when things are truly wrong. I have taken mushrooms and ecstasy but not often, and have not done so within the last few months. I'm generally a healthy eater and I exercise.
My symptoms began over a month ago. I thought that I was dealing with a parasite infestation, like fleas or body lice; I felt things crawling on me (in my home or away) and "bite" sensations. I had never actually seen any insect, though, and started to go somewhat crazy over it--extremely emotionally distressed. Eventually went to a doctor and he brought up the idea of delusional parasitosis, caused by stress or an allergic reaction or whatnot. My thyroid and allergy blood tests came back normal. I was prescribed Atarax and Lorazapan, though I rarely took them because they make me drowsy. A little over a week ago, the crawling feeling finally went away (thank god).
However, other symptoms (some that occurred during the time of the crawling feelings) have continued. I'm not sure if they are related or not. All of these tend to come and go, aren't constant:
Shaking episodes where my teeth chatter despite not being cold
Keep swallowing like there is something stuck in the back of my throat
Occasional toe numbness
Tingling in my jaw/cheek, which has now turned into soreness and pressure through my jaw up to my temples and forehead
Painful sensitive tongue, especially on the sides and bottom
Sore eyes, hard to focus my vision
Pain in ears--the vibration of singing hurts
Not quite diarrhea, but not normal either. Acidic, upset stomach
Allergy-like red rashes on my elbows and knees
Feel drowsy and "out of it" despite getting enough sleep
Sore upper back and neck
So far the doc still thinks that it's just stress and anxiety, though he suspects that the jaw pain might be a dental problem. I'm not really sure what to think at this point.
