Legionnaires Prognosis

I contracted Legionnaires Disease in February, 2002. I have read numerous articles which basically state that, provided one survives the initial disease, the long term effects are minimal.
Could any-body please tell me why, after 4 1/2 years, I am still not back at work, am still fatigued, tired after any exhertion, continue to suffer bowel problems, ( which started when I regained conciousness in hospital), swelling of the joints, poor eye-sight and numerous other complaints?
Surely I can't be the only one to still be suffering after such a long time?
