I was just diagnosed with lyme disease about a month ago and started doexycycline and finished it about 2 weeks ago. It never touched my symptoms, infact i'm feeling worse. I'm having more numbing in my arms and legs. I cann't even open my babys bottle. My dr is telling me that there is no other treatment, and give it 6 more weeks for neurological symptoms to disappear. I need to start feeling better asap. I have a 1 year old daughter and need to be able to keep up with her. Can anyone give me any ideas of how you were treated so i can relay them to my dr, (who is a family practice dr)

Thanks so much!!

  • It's been awhile since you posted but I see no one has followed up. I hope you are feeling better by now.I have been infected and treated twice in the last two years (I am a 55 yo F living in N. VA). The first time, it took a few weeks before I felt 100% again. But the second time, the symptoms cleared quickly. My infections disease Dr. didn't find anything unusual about this and in the long run, the symptoms do go away with prompt treatment. I can see you were under a lot of stress with a young child, but the key here is patience and time.Best of luck!I was just diagnosed with lyme disease about a month ago and started doexycycline and finished it about 2 weeks ago.
