If you ahve had Cat Scratch Fever is it possible to get it again and would you be more suceptible?

  • Have you had it before?I have Cat Scratch Fever right now and am on antibiotics for it. I have a swollen lymph node on the side of my neck that is so big that even the Dr's are worried about letting it go too long before draining it. It is my own wrongdoing by letting it go too long before going to the Dr. This started in January and I finally went to the Dr a week ago because I have this terrible fear of medical procedures. However, the good news is that once you are infected with the "cat scratch fever" bacteria called Bartonella henselae your body builds up an immunity to it. So, like chicken pox, you won't get it again and that is good news!
