My father contracted leprosy when he was 16 years from bathing in the same pond as a leprous person. He was treated for it with Dapsone and has had no problems with it since. My children - his grandchildren are 19 and 16. My oldest child has retinal distintegration/degeneration and the doctors cannot find any cause for it. This is unsual in one so young?Could this be caused by a dormant bacteria that could have been passed on from my dad to the child when young through normal activites of taking care of a child of toddler.
